5-min Charging, 2-hour Talk-time with new OPPO F9

Following a launch event in Nairobi last week, camera phone specialists OPPO announced the release of the OPPO F9 locally, with the device now available in smartphone stores across the country.

The OPPO F9, which was on pre-order from 10th September 2018, sails on VOOC Flash Charge as its main key feature: VOOC Charging technology applies a low-voltage, fast charging, mechanism to deliver lightning quick charging at a speed 4 times faster than the normal conventional charging technology.

This, OPPO claims, gives a 2-hour talk time, in just 5-minutes of charging, also ensuring a safe charging process with five layers of protection from the charging adapter to smartphone, including low temperature and voltage. Be wary of those who can’t stay a minute away from their phone, should they get their hands on this baby!

The OPPO F9 also comes with a 19.5:9 unique Water-drop Screen design – a design that aims to minimize the notch, and create more room for the screen, with a body to screen ratio of 90.8 percent. The water drop notch hosts the receiver, camera and light sensor for more condensed space and a more compact layout.. The device is available in two colors; Sunrise Red and Twilight Blue, with an additional option unveiled later.

Interesting to note is that, in order to achieve a unified design, the F9 for the first time applies a gradient design on the side frame, making the sides and the back a naturally connected whole.

The brand has also partnered with LIPA Later, to offer OPPO devices in installments.
