Taraji P. Henson Stars in New Film ‘What Men Want’
Paramount Pictures is rebooting the 2000 classic ‘What Women Want‘, which starred Mel Gibson and Hellen Hunt, with African-American screen siren Taraji P. Henson (more popularly known as ‘Cookie Lyon’ in the FOX TV series ‘Empire‘) in a new R-Rated film ‘What Men Want‘.
With a star studded cast which includes Aldis Hodge, Richard Roundtree, Wendi McLendon-Covey, and Tracy Morgan, the film revolves around Ali Davis (Taraji P. Henson) who is a successful sports agent who’s constantly boxed out (of opportunities) by her male colleagues.
When Ali is passed up for a well-deserved promotion, she questions what else she needs to do in order to succeed in a man’s world… until she gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts! With her newfound power, Ali looks to outsmart her colleagues as she races to sign the next basketball superstar, but the lengths to which she has to go to will put her relationship with her best friends, and a potential new love interest (Aldis Hodge) to the test.
In an interview on BET, Henson and Producer Will Packer (Think Like a Man and Girl Trip), further explore the film, describing the character Ali as a woman who doesn’t get what she wants in a male-dominated world, and seeks equal opportunity, which is what makes the film relevant today.
What Men Want is scheduled for release in 2019
