Boeing opens engineering and technology center in Brazil

São Paulo, October 10 (EFECOM).- The American aerospace company Boeing opened this Tuesday an engineering and technology center in the city of São José dos Campos, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.

The center, one of 15 centers worldwide by the manufacturer and the first in Brazil, will help develop cutting-edge technology and promote aerospace innovation, the company said in a statement.

At the opening ceremony, Boeing representatives signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of São Paulo to promote aerospace engineering training in schools, promote a joint agenda of industrialization and innovation, and enhance the flow of talent.

They also announced the company’s first internship program in Brazil, aimed at final-year engineering students, scheduled to start next year.

“Our investments in Brazil are extensive and reflect Boeing’s view of the country as a strategic partner to address some of the aerospace industry’s greatest challenges,” said Landon Loomis, country president and vice president for policy, Latin America and the Caribbean.
