MuCi, Paraguay’s first interactive museum, will make its home in the country’s capital, with the aim of elevating the human spirit through experiences and places that inspire and awaken curiosity.

The Municipal Board of Asuncion confirmed this Wednesday that an imposing museum could be built in the country’s capital, specifically in Costanera de Asuncion, in the district of San Roque, on land owned by the municipality.

At the beginning of this year, MuCi received an offer from the Municipality of Asunción, from the Municipal Cabinet reference no. 003/2023 was issued by DGG to MuCi where they offered the property, which was accepted by the Board of Directors. MuCi Foundation, rector of the project.

Asuncion will not only have a world-class museum, but the historic center of Asuncion will drive Paraguay’s tourism and cultural and recreational facilities for citizens with their contribution to the construction of the museum.

This place will be a model in the region and a pioneer for private capital investments, which will be important for the development of the Costanera and the capital to its full potential, which is very worthy and necessary.

For its part, the Museum of Science (MuCi) is committed to democratizing learning experiences through science and the dignified and respectful treatment of all Paraguayans as we move together to build the country of our dreams.

Pilot project

The project already had a pilot project since November last year, with the founding of TatakuaLab in the Textelia campus, which aims to bring science experiences and exhibitions suitable for children, youth and adults.

Likewise, MuCi has conducted many free events and sponsored events related to scientific and cultural contribution to the country.

MuCi is the first interactive science museum in Paraguay, born with the mission of awakening the love of knowledge to create a better future for the country.

It will (once its doors open) be one of the best interactive science museums in the region and the third in the world to feature planetarium technology with a curved LED screen.
